GEHA (Government Employees Health Association) is a self-insured, not-for-profit association providing health and dental plans to federal employees and retirees and their families through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) and the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP).
How is GEHA different from an HMO plan? GEHA is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan. With this plan, you pay a deductible and coinsurance or copayment for some care. We have a network of doctors and hospitals contracted with us to provide discounts for medical services.
GEHA offers two dental plan options:
1) High Option
2) Standard Option
Both plans include: Comprehensive dental services, from preventive care to crowns, bridges and dentures. No deductibles and no waiting periods for most services. Benefits the same for in-network and out-of-network providers. The Standard Option has a lower premium and maximum benefit per person. The High Option pays more for covered services and includes an annual maximum benefit per person plus no waiting period for orthodontic services.
GEHA health plan and dental plan members may nominate dentists to the Connection Dental Network
